Cops: Bird-watcher spotted home burglary in progress

A bird-watcher in Ingleside saw enough of an apparent burglary through binoculars May 6 to give police sufficient information to make arrests, according to the Lake County state's attorney's office.

The vigilance and subsequent arrests resulted in a Lake County grand jury indicting a man and woman from Ingleside on June 17, according to a state's attorney's report.

Edward Schultz, 29, and Haley Strong, 22, both of 26000 block of West Wildwood Avenue, have been charged with residential burglary and theft.
