Two men were killed Monday in a shooting at a Bolingbrook industrial park, authorities said.
Bolingbrook police were called at 9:39 a.m. with a report of a shooting at YCB International, an auto supply importer, in the 600 block of Veterans Parkway, said Lt. Carter Larry, a police spokesman.
Larry said three employees were in the business at the time of the shooting. Two were not injured.
The Will County coroner hotline said Xinling Zhang, 39, of Naperville, suffered multiple gunshots and was pronounced dead at 12:20 p.m. Degang Zhang, 48, of Aurora, suffered a single gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at noon, the coroner hotline said. Both men died at the scene, and autopsies are scheduled for Tuesday, the coroner said.
Larry said the gun in the incident was recovered, and there was no threat to the public.
Four Bolingbrook schools were on soft lockdown for a short time because of the incident, the Valley View School District 365U website said.
The schools affected were Bolingbrook High School, Jane Addams Middle School, Independence Elementary School and Oak View Elementary School. Bolingbrook High School is about a half-mile east of where the shooting took place.
A soft lockdown meant staff and students in the buildings were following procedures designed to maintain a safe school environment. All doors were locked, and no one was allowed to enter or leave the buildings.
