Arlington Heights Police praise Cook County sheriff officer for help with sex assault arrest - But Cook County Sheriff Tom Dart will not turn this Illegal Alien over to the FEDS

Arlington Heights police are praising the Cook County Sheriff's Office for a routine traffic stop that led them to a Mount Prospect man now charged in the 2014 sexual assault of a 68-year-old woman.

"This was the result of some really good work from a lot of people, and we'd just like to say, 'kudos to the Cook County sheriff's deputy who made the traffic arrest," Arlington Heights Police Cmdr. Nathan Hayes said.

Reynaldo Pineda, 35, was arrested by Cook County sheriff's police Sunday in the 1700 block of Dempster Street for driving without a valid license, operating a motor vehicle without insurance and for driving a vehicle without a registration plate light, Cook County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Sophia Ansari said.

After the arrest, Pineda's fingerprints were collected by Cook County police and entered into the national database for comparison, she said.

Hayes said that, just three days after the arrest, investigators in Arlington Heights were notified that Pineda's fingerprints matched unidentified fingerprints from a September 2014 investigation.
