#BLACKLIESMATTER = Chicago/Chiraq: 3 dead, 10 wounded in Black shootings
A small group of people stood outside a brick three-flat in Little Village early Saturday to watch an ambulance carry a friend away.
The woman inside had been shot in the chest not long before, about 12:30 a.m. near the intersection of West 25th Street and South Harding Avenue. Police said the woman, 45, was walking when she heard gunfire and realized she had been shot.
As the ambulance began a slow drive up Harding, the bystanders walked out toward the street, hoping to get to the hospital. They pleaded with police officers to be allowed to take the car in front of them, which had been wrapped in police tape as part of the crime scene.
“Nobody else has a car?” an officer asked.
No, they all said.
The officers spoke among themselves for a moment, then began to unwrap the tape.
One man rushed forward and tried to get into the car, but the front door was locked. He began to moan when he realized the device for the keyless entry was with the woman in the ambulance.
