TSA: NIGERIA A CAPITALIST SOCIETY, NOT SOCIALIST- OLAJENGBESI PELUMI

It is imperative at this trial moment of the Nigeria economy that the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria should relax the full operation of the Treasury Single Account TSA, particularly for institutions and agencies of Government that are not revenue generating bodies, but established to further the Nation's goals, aspirations and development, for example all federal tertiary institutions, federal media agencies such as NTA, National Sports Commission, Nigerian Police Force, SSS, NIA and so on.

The Federal Government of Nigeria must accept that a total TSA is a mere hallucination  in a capilalist economy like Nigeria, where government agencies have private organisations to compete with rigorously and Nigeria that we all know is not a socialist economy and cannot turn one overnight.

While the TSA policy is important to reposition the economy, block reckless lickages in government businesses and perhaps stimulate creativity in the Nigerian banking industry, it is also capable of sinking the country that have her highest young people population unemployed,  into an abyss of joblessness. The TSA application must be well managed and of utmost importance relaxed for some government agencies. It is in fact against  progressive logic for a government that is yet to set out a clear economy policy and direction for its administration to emback on a total TSA application as it implies climbing the leader from the top. A total TSA is impracticable in Nigeria for now.

God bless Nigeria.
