Chicago BBQ King James B. Lemons, a founder of 'Lem’s,' dies at 87

His rib tips were great!
His body will be hickory smoked then glazed with some BBQ sauce prior to burial!


Barbecue lovers might be tempted to say that James B. Lemons has gone to hog heaven.

The founder of Lem’s Bar-B-Q at 311 E. 75th St., Mr. Lemons died on Dec. 13 at the Grove rehab facility in Lincoln Park. He ate his slow-cooked, hickory-smoked pork for half a century and lived to be 87.
