DRIVING WHILE BLACK IN CHICAGO - 2 injured in fiery Dan Ryan crash
Two colored folks were injured in a fiery five-car crash early Sunday morning on the Dan Ryan Expressway, Chicago Fire Department officials said.
The crash occurred just before 4:30 a.m. on the express lanes of the outbound I-90/94 near 29th Street, according to Illinois State Police.
At least one car caught fire, and two people were taken to local hospitals, said Chicago Fire Department Deputy District Chief Jeff Lyle. One person was taken to Stroger Hospital in fair-to-serious condition and another was taken to Mercy Hospital with minor injuries.
The lanes were closed as of about 5:10 a.m. but were expected to reopen soon after that.
Fire crews had finished with the scene by about 5:30 a.m.
