Portage Indiana falls prey to the Negro cancer - Suspected road rage leaves one man in critical condition, 2 Negroes in custody after S.W.A.T. invades their home
PORTAGE — One man was shot and is in critical condition and two suspects are in custody after what police believe may have been a road rage incident on the city's west side Friday.
Police were called about 7:30 p.m to the area of Mulberry Avenue and Willowdale Road for reports of a shooting.
Police Chief Troy Williams said an adult white male was shot at least once and "suffered a lot of blood loss."
According to police, initial reports indicated there was a road rage incident that occurred between the victim and another vehicle occupied by multiple people. Police said both parties exited their vehicles and a physical altercation ensued. One of the occupants of the other vehicle entered a home on Mulberry and came out with a gun and fired multiple shots with at least one striking the victim, police said.
Police said the victim appeared to return to his car and drove away before crashing into a house nearby.
A SWAT team called to the scene attempted to make contact with suspects in the home but when none was made they deployed tear gas in the upper level of the residence.
