A near West Side caregiver has been charged with making more than 60 ATM withdrawals totaling more than $12,000 from the account of a Harwood Heights woman she worked for, prosecutors said Saturday.

Latrisha M. Allen, 40, was arrested Friday and ordered held in lieu of $50,000 bail Saturday in Cook County bond court. She is charged with aggravated identity theft and financial exploitation of an elderly person, according to court records.

The withdrawals were made between Aug. 19 and Dec. 2, according to court records. Most of the cash came from a U.S. Bank ATM machine located in the same building as the victim's apartment, and the machine took "numerous" photos of Allen making the withdrawals.

The victim trusted Allen with her debit card and PIN number so the caregiver could buy medication and personal items that the victim needed from CVS and Walgreens, according to court records. Allen never received permission to make cash withdrawals.
