Oregon police officer shot dead while serving search warrant - Seaside, Oregon Police Officer Jason Gooding, 39, fatally shot in the line of duty outside a restaurant called Pig N’ Pancake

A policeman in Seaside, Oregon, was shot dead Friday night while serving a search warrant.

Jason Gooding, 39, was downtown in the coastal city of 6,500 when he approached a suspect who opened fired outside a restaurant called Pig N’ Pancake, the Daily Astorian reported.

Eyewitnesses told the newspaper that the 13-year department veteran had used his Taser but was then shot three times.
