Wisconsin taking applications for next class of Wisconsin state troopers

The Wisconsin State Patrol is looking for recruits.
The application deadline for people who want to become troopers and inspectors is March 14 with training to begin in October. Previous recruit classes ranged from 25 to 52 cadets. The next recruit class is scheduled to graduate in April 2017.
Applicants must apply online at wisc.jobs - search for 16-00076 — and choose a location and time for a multiple-choice examination. Exams will be held in March and April in Madison, Eau Claire, Superior, Wausau, Pewaukee, La Crosse and Green Bay.
Applicants must be 18 or older, have a two-year associate degree or earned at least 60 associate degree level credits, and pass physical tests, among other requirements.
Candidates will be paid $21 per hour plus free meals and lodging during six months of training at the State Patrol Academy at Fort McCoy. After six months on the State Patrol, their pay is increased to $22 per hour and $23 per hour after two years on the job.
