ZION, IL - Pinsters Bowl & Bar at 1646 Sheridan Road - Man shot outside Zion bowling alley

A piece of shit gang banging thug was shot multiple times outside a bowling alley in unincorporated Zion early Sunday.

Police responded to Pinsters Bowl & Bar at 1646 Sheridan Rd. about 1:40 a.m. after they received a call about a person with a gun, according to a statement from the Lake County Sheriff's office.

When deputies arrived, they saw "several hundred people" running from the bowling alley and found a 25-year-old man shot in the head and leg, police said.

Deputy Michael Platt administered "life-saving measures and applied a tourniquet to the victim's leg, stopping the blood loss," according to the statement.

An ambulance took the man to a local hospital, where police said he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

The shooting "was likely gang related, following a dispute between rival gang members," according to the statement.

Det. Christopher Covelli, a spokesman for the sheriff's office, said members of the Lake County Sheriff's Gang Task Force were "actively investigating the case."

Officers from the Winthrop Harbor and Zion police departments helped set up a perimeter.
