Car stolen with 6 taxpayer's paid welfare kids inside, two in custody after kids found safe
DAYTON, Ohio – A car with six children inside (age ranging 6 mos to 10 years old) was reportedly stolen Tuesday evening in the 2300 block of Salem Avenue.
A woman called in the incident around 9 p.m. The car was found a short time later with the kids inside, unharmed.
Dayton police say the suspect got out of the stolen vehicle and got into another car.
When attempting to stop a vehicle near Gettysburg and Cornell, police say two men attempted to run from police, but were taken into custody a short time later.
Police are working to determine whether or not the two men who fled are tied to the vehicle theft.
