Organisers are expecting the biggest ever crowd of Muslims to turn out at Australia’s biggest gay and lesbian celebration at the weekend.
Alice Aslan, from the Muslims Against Homophobia group (MAHA), said she has been deluged with supporters wanting to join her marching at the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras on Saturday.
‘We had difficulty finding people in the first year but now many people want to come,’ said Ms Aslan, who previously marched with a handful of friends in 2011 and 2012.
