Three Chicago men have been charged with a home invasion at an Oak Park apartment Monday, Oak Park police say.
Marliss Pelmer, 21, of the 12000 block of South Perry Avenue, Justin Harris, 18, of the 11800 block of South Yale Avenue, and Devonte Gosha, 20, of the 12000 block of South Yale Avenue, were each charged with home invasion, aggravated kidnapping and aggravated battery, according to a press release from the village of Oak Park.
Police say the trio, wearing ski masks and armed with handguns, entered the apartment on the top floor of a building in the 800 block of Lake Street at about 9:40 p.m. March 7. According to the release, the three men announced a robbery and demanded money.
Three of the six people who had been inside the apartment told police that the suspects hit them with a handgun, according to the release. Two people were later treated for cuts and bruises on their heads.
According to the release, police responded to a 911 call and found two of the suspects still inside the building, while the third was found nearby. An unspecified amount of cash and jewelry were reported taken from the apartment before police arrived, police said.
