UNENDING CHICAGO NEGRO VIOLENCE - Man shot on River North sidewalk by ‘real sketchy’ suspect

A man was shot on a River North neighborhood sidewalk Tuesday afternoon.
The 24-year-old victim was shot in the abdomen at 2:27 p.m. in the 600 block of North Wells, according to Chicago Police. A man walked up to him, pulled out a gun and shot him before driving away in a gray minivan.

The two men appear to have had a prior relationship, police said.
The victim was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where his condition was stabilized, police said.
The shooting occurred on the west side of Wells Street in between a Japanese restaurant and an MRI clinic.
Nick Araujo, 19, was working as a valet at the nearby Wildfire steakhouse when the shooting occurred.
Araujo said the shooter — whom he described a black male with a hooded sweatshirt pulled over his face — “was looking real sketchy” and walked around the block twice before firing between six and eight shots.
