Chicago Police: A black man with a checkered past was shot & wounded in a Marquette Park neighborhood drive-by shooting

A black man with a checkered past was shot & wounded in a Marquette Park neighborhood drive-by shooting early Wednesday on the Southwest Side.

The 33-year-old was standing on the corner in the 6300 block of South Richmond about 3:05 a.m. when a vehicle drove by and someone inside opened fire, according to Chicago Police.

The man was shot in the arm and taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where his condition was stabilized, police said.

A police source said he is a documented gang member who was not cooperating with investigators.
