Career Criminal Tyrell Cratic holds teen, pregnant woman at gunpoint during Submarine Port restaurant in the 2700 block of West 51st Street robbery

Illinois State Senator Bill Cunningham & Cook County Sheriff Tom Dart has pushed to have these REPEAT CRIMINALS released early over and over again.... And yet the ASSHOLES of the 19th ward and citizens of Cook County keep re-electing these assholes into office!

The $400 cash taken from the register at a Gage Park submarine shop and handed over to a gun-toting robber apparently wasn't enough as the robber continued demanding more money from the two employees, one a 17-year-old girl and the other a woman who was eight months pregnant, prosecutors said Saturday.

Eventually one of the women reached into her own pocket and handed the gunman a $5 bill. The man also snatched a gold chain from the teenage worker and forced both females into the shop’s cooler. Then, he stole a SUV belonging to one of the victims and fled the Submarine Port restaurant in the 2700 block of West 51st Street after the March 7 takeover armed robbery.

The alleged gunman, Tyrell Cratic, 20, was arrested this week by a fugitive apprehension unit after a parole violation warrant was issued for him, authorities said. His fingerprints were found underneath the sub shop’s cash register, according to an arrest report. Prosecutors said Cratic had was accompanied by an uncharged co-defendant.

Cratic, who was out on parole for a 2012 burglary conviction and a 2013 conviction for escaping while on an electronic monitoring device, is charged with two counts of armed robbery and kidnapping. His accomplice remained at-large.

Cook County Judge Donald Panarese Jr. ordered Cratic, of the 6100 block of South Seeley Avenue, held on $500,000 bail at the Leighton Criminal Courts Building.

In court, prosecutors detailed how the 6-foot-2, 170-pound Cratic aggressively held the pregnant victim at gunpoint, jamming the weapon into her head as he demanded cash. He also forced one of the victims to crawl on her knees through the business during the robbery, though it wasn’t immediately clear which victim.

Cratic demanded cash from the victims themselves after taking the shop’s money, Assistant Cook County State’s Attorney Brian Whang told the judge.

After the men fled, the women were able to contact police. The pregnant employee was briefly taken to the hospital to be treated for a minor injury related to the gun pressure against her head. A manager at the restaurant could not be reached for comment Saturday afternoon.

If he is able to raise the $50,000 for bail, Cratic cannot have contact with the victims in the case.

Cratic is expected to return to court next week.
