Obama's U.S. Department of Justice Takes Down 3 dozen Chicago Area Latin Kings - Feds Take Down 36 Latin Kings In Sweeping Racketeering Conspiracy

THE LOOP — Local and federal authorities on Tuesday revealed a sweeping, multi-year investigation into Chicago's violent Latin Kings street gang, charging nearly three dozen alleged members in a racketeering conspiracy.

U.S. Atty. Zach Fardon and Chicago Police Supt. Eddie Johnson are detailing the gang takedown at a press conference at the Federal Building in the Loop.

Indictments against 36 people were unsealed today, including the indictments of 34 people on racketeering conspiracy, the same tactic the feds have used for years to target mobsters, the Chicago Outfit and other criminal organizations.
