Illinois State Police: Second fatal shooting in about six hours on Eisenhower as NEGRO VIOLENCE escalates like never before

A person was shot and killed on the Eisenhower late Thursday morning, the second fatal shooting in just over six hours on the West Side expressway.

The most recent shooting happened about 11:50 a.m. in the eastbound lanes of I-290 at Central Avenue, according to Illinois State Police.

A man was killed and a female was wounded in a shooting early Thursday on the Eisenhower Expressway in the East Garfield Park neighborhood on the West Side, police said.

The two victims, whose ages were not immediately known, were shot about 6 p.m. on westbound I-290 near South California, according to preliminary information from Illinois State Police.

The Cook County medical examiner’s office could not immediately confirm the fatality early Thursday.

They were both taken to Stroger Hospital, but the female’s condition was not immediately available, police said.

Police said they will be closing down all westbound I-290 lanes about 7:30 a.m. to search for shell casings.
