2 Killed in Overnight Crash on Chicago's Dan Ryan Expressway
I traveled the Chicago expressway system last night. I drove from Addison Ave on the Kennedy Expressway all the way to the State of Indiana via the Dan Ryan & Bishop Ford... As cars flew past me in excess of 100 mph and swerving from lane to lane... During this 25 mile trip I failed to see ONE STATE TROOPER patrolling the Chicago expressways last night...
Two drivers were killed in a crash early Sunday on the Dan Ryan Expressway on the South Side, police said.
Shortly after 3 a.m., one vehicle was on the shoulder in the outbound express lanes of I-90/94 near 47th Street when it was rear-ended by another vehicle, according to Illinois State Police.
Both drivers, who were the only occupants of their vehicles, were pronounced dead at the scene, police said. No other injuries were reported. The Cook County medical examiner’s office did not immediately provide information on the fatalities.
All outbound lanes in the area were temporarily closed to traffic, police said.
