Gary Indiana female black welfare breeder killed at her front door - The Lazy Negro's Way to get KILLED
A 37-year-old Gary woman was shot dead Saturday while walking with her 18-year-old son into her home in the 3600 block of Van Buren Street, police say.
Gary Police Department spokesman Lt. Thomas Pawlak said the shooting occurred at approximately 3:30 p.m. It appears the woman, whose name was not released, was shot outside of her home, but was able to make it indoors before collapsing, he said.
She was pronounced dead at the scene at 4:15 p.m., according to a Lake County Coroner's Office press release. The cause of death was listed as a homicide as a result of gunshot wounds, according to the release.
The shooting took place down the street from a triple shooting Wednesday, also in the 3600 block of Van Buren, that left one victim in critical condition, Pawlak said. It is unknown at this time if the crimes are related, or if gangs were involved, but police are looking into the possibility.
"She was with her 18 year old troubled son walking home," Pawlak said. "We don't know if she or him was the target."
The Lake County Metro Homicide Unit is investigating. Police are interviewing witnesses and canvassing the neighborhood, he said. There were no suspects identified Sunday.
Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to contact Det. George Dickerson with the Lake County Metro Homicide Unit at 219-755-3855. People may also use the crime tip line at 866-CRIME-GP.
