Govt. Cancels Licences of 20,000 NGOs For FCRA Violation

New Delhi: The government on Tuesday cancelled licences of 20,000 NGOs for violating various provisions of Foreign Contribution Regulation Act (FCRA).



These NGOs will not be eligible to receive foreign funds. A senior Home Ministry official said of the 33,000 such registered organisations in the country, only 13,000 NGOs are legally valid.
