NOVEMBER WAS CHICAGO'S THIRD-DEADLIEST MONTH IN 2016, CHICAGO POLICE SAY DUE TO NEGRO VIOLENCE - 81 Murders & 324 Shot & Wounded in November 2016

Newly released Chicago crime numbers show November was the third-deadliest month in 2016. That's during a year where the number of murders reached its highest level in almost 20 years.

The last time Chicago crossed the threshold of more than 700 murders in one year was in 1998. The city is on pace to break that record this year.

There were 77 murders in November, bringing the grand total in 2016 to 682. The total number of shootings in 2016 is now 3,319 and the total number of shooting victims is 4,022.

November saw more murders than any other month this year than August and October.

Someone has been shot every day in Chicago since Feb. 28, 2015. But according to a recent USA Today article, Chicago does not make the top ten when it comes to deadliest cities.
