CHICAGO, IL — A Southwest Airlines flight just made an emergency landing at Midway Airport shortly after takeoff Thursday morning.
The plane ingested a bird upon takeoff, Steve Grzanich of WGN Radio first reported on Twitter. It landed safely at Midway at 10:07 a.m., according to a CBS-Chicago report.
The flight was scheduled to leave Midway at 9:30 a.m. and was headed to Las Vegas with a scheduled 11:30 a.m. local time arrival, according to flight radar. The actual departure time was 9:56 a.m.
The flight number is WN105/SWA105.
