Authorities arrested a man in Georgia who was allegedly connected to the January murder of a Lockport man, police said.

Tariq Pinnick, 20, of Lockport Township, was arrested in Norcross, Ga., on Nov. 30 following a Will County Crime Stoppers tip, according to a Will County Sheriff news release Wednesday.

Pinnick is accused of gunning down Dylan Somma, 22 on Jan. 13 following an alleged drug deal in the Fairmont neighborhood of unincorporated Lockport Township, authorities said. A Will County judge issued a warrant for Pinnick's arrest with a $1 million bond Jan. 14.

Police had responded to the 200 block of Barry Avenue and found Somma unresponsive in the front yard with a single gunshot wound to his head, police said. He was transported to Silver Cross Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

Last month, Will County sheriff's police contacted U.S. Marshalls and Georiga's Gwinnett County Sheriff's offices, which began looking for Pinnick in the area following a Crimestopper tip. Will County Crimestoppers will issue the $5,000 reward money to the person who provided the tip that led to the capture of Pinnick, the sheriff's news release said.

"Pinnick remains in custody in Georgia on unrelated felony obstructing justice charges," the release said. "Upon completion of his court proceedings, he will be extradited back to Will County to stand trial for first degree murder."
