Off-duty Chicago Police Officer fatally shoots "unarmed" man in NW Side confrontation - 2500 block of North Lowell Avenue
An off-duty Chicago police officer Monday fatally shot an unarmed man whom he had previously had a confrontation with, according to Chicago police Superintendent Eddie Johnson, who said he had "more questions than I have answers at this time" about the shooting.
It's the second time a man has been shot by a Chicago police officer this year. Authorities said the man, shot about 9:15 a.m. Monday in the 2500 block of North Lowell Avenue in the Belmont Gardens neighborhood, was pronounced dead at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center.
