Cleveland police still searching for Martino Giles, 28, a Negro with a very checkered past who is accused of killing roommate over rent, stolen watch
CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Cleveland police are asking for the public's help to locate a man accused of killing his roommate over rent and a stolen watch.
Martino Giles, 28, is wanted in the death of his roommate Deandre Jackson who was killed in October 2012.
Giles and Jackson were living together at an apartment on Superior Avenue near East 55th Street. An argument over owed rent and a missing watch erupted between the two men.
After stepping into a common area in their building's second floor, Giles pulled out a gun and fired one shot. The bullet struck Jackson in the head, killing him, police said.
Giles was released from prison in June after serving time for an unrelated weapons charges. Giles was not a suspect in his roommate's killing until after his release from prison.
Police believe Giles is armed and dangerous. Anyone with information about his location is asked to contact Cleveland homicide detectives at 216-623-5464 or submit tips through Crimestoppers at 216-252-7463.
