Chicago Black Violence SOARS with the MILD WINTER - Over 25 Shot & Wounded since Monday plus a handful of murders

A teenager was shot to death and ten other people, including a 7-year-old boy, have been wounded in separate shootings since Wednesday afternoon across the city, police said.

A 17-year-old boy died after he was shot about 1:30 p.m. in the West Woodlawn neighborhood on the South Side, according to police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

He was walking on the sidewalk in the 500 block of East Marquette Road when two male attackers walked up to him from behind and fired shots, said Chicago Police Department spokesman Officer Hector Alfaro.

The boy suffered gunshot wounds to his head and body, Alfaro said.

The teen was taken in critical condition to Stroger Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 12:42 a.m., according to the medical examiner’s office.

No was in custody as a result of the fatal shooting.

A 7-year-old boy was shot around 9:55 p.m. in the Austin neighborhood on the West Side, Alfaro said.

The boy was sitting in the back seat of a parked car with his mother in the 1000 block of North Leamington Avenue when someone fired gunshots outside, Alfaro said.

The boy was shot in the upper right side of his back. His mother drove him to West Suburban Medical Center, Alfaro said.
