There are easier and less criminal ways to pay a visit to your friends behind bars than ramming your car through the jail’s front door and then trying to scale a fence. One Florida man has learned that the hard way.

Florida police say that Patrick Rempe was high on flakka when he tried to drive his Toyota through the front doors of the Indian River County Jail late Monday night, according to West Palm Beach’s WPTV.

When that attempt failed to completely breach the entrance, he then smashed into one of the fences around the jail. Police say Rempe tried to scale it but got caught on the three loops of razor wire at the top.

Much like his attempt to breach the jail’s door, there’s also photographic evidence of this high wire act.

Police said this serves as a warning of the dangerous effects of flakka.

Rempe now faces a number of charges, including felony criminal mischief, driving under the influence and leaving the scene of the crash with property damage. He’s also been charged with aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer, as he allegedly spit on a deputy as he was being removed from the fence.
