A 16-year-old Melrose Park boy is on life support after he was shot in the head while sitting on his porch Friday night, according to his family.

Dawson Stephan was taken to Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, where he is on a ventilator, said his older brother, Andrew Stephan. “It doesn’t look good," Stephan said of his brother’s condition. “He’s actually on life support."

“He is my baby," sobbed Dawson’s mother, Michelle Stephan, who was at his bedside Saturday afternoon. “I am looking at him right now. I haven’t left here since last night, and I don’t plan to."

She has been talking to him all night long, even though he can’t respond.
