Career Criminal Johnny Lopez (41) Dies While In Chicago Police Custody.... Let the looting begin!

A 41-year-old man died Tuesday at the Jefferson Park police station after being arrested earlier in the evening, according to police.

Johnny Lopez, of the 4600 block of North Monticello Avenue, was found unresponsive in a cell at the station at 5151 N. Milwaukee Ave., police said.

Police found him unconscious around 8 p.m. in the lockup area. Paramedics tried to revive him, but he was pronounced dead at 8:20 p.m., according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

An autopsy was ruled inconclusive, and the office did not rule on cause or manner of death, pending results of toxicology tests, which could take a few weeks to process.
