(CHICAGO) At the City Council police brutality hearings, Bill Cameron says the mayor has made a concession to the critics of his Task Force on Police Accountability.
Too many insiders on the mayor’s task force say the critics and so task force member Lori Lightfoot the Police Board president told the aldermen formal invitations are going out to community groups to give their input.
“Community activists, people who are involved in block clubs, people who are involved in CAPS, what I’ll call academics and other experts.”
Lightfoot’s reassurance came after nearly four hours of the mayor’s new police brutality watchdog Sharon Fairley looking unprepared for her new job, unable to come up with basic information about her dept. One alderman called Fairley’s testimony “ridiculous.”
