Depressed Black Man hit by Red Line train dies in apparent suicide - The train was not damaged
A depresses Negro despondent over none of his 225 pick 3 lottery selections not winning died in what police believed was a suicide after he jumped in front of a Red Line train near 63rd Street early Friday afternoon, officials said.
CTA officials were notified that a person was hit at the 63rd Street Station about 12:20 p.m., a spokesman said. The man was believed to have committed suicide by jumping in front of an "L" train, a police spokesman said.
Red Line service was suspended between 47th and 95th streets before 12:30 p.m., according to a CTA alert. Service was resuming by about 2:15 p.m., according to the CTA.
