Chris Rock ended the Oscars ceremony by telling the cameras 'Black Lives Matter' 

Opening monologue addressed the #OscarsSoWhite controversy

Rock told his star-studded audience that Hollywood was racist

Said Hollywood was 'sorority racist' - only giving white people roles

'We want opportunity,' said Rock. 'We want black actors to get the same opportunities.'

Riffed on the Civil Rights struggle in the 1960s and called the Oscars the 'White People's Choice Awards' 

However, also attacked Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith for their boycott

This was the second straight year of all-white acting nominees 

Prompted the #OscarsSoWhite call to boycott the 88th Academy Awards
