One man is dead and at least 17 others have been wounded in shootings in Chicago since Saturday afternoon, police said.
Two people were shot at 2:10 p.m., one fatally, on the 7000 block of South Paulina Street in the West Englewood neighborhood, said Officer Kevin Quaid, a police spokesman.
In that incident, a 27-year-old man was shot three times in the right shoulder, one time in the left shoulder, one time in the back and once in each leg, Quaid said.
The man, identified as Cordero Mosley of the 6700 block of South Wood Street, was taken to Holy Cross Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 2:28 p.m., according to the Cook County medical examiner's office and police.
