Chicago Police and CTA Transit warns it blue line WHITE PASSENGERS beware of PICK POCKETING NEGORES
Police are warning CTA Blue Line riders about a group of pickpockets targeting riders on O'Hare-branch trains toward the city.
This group is believed to have pickpocketed a man leaving an inbound Blue Line train at Washington Street about 8 p.m. Wednesday.
One of the men pretended his foot was stuck between train doors and the platform, right in front of the 59-year-old victim, and while he pretended to be stuck and the victim helped him, someone else bumped the victim and took his wallet.
The victim's credit cards had been used to purchase Ventra cards, according to police.
It's not clear how many victims this group is responsible for, though police described a pattern of distraction and then theft perpetrated by two or three people at a time.
Detectives are asking anyone with information to call Area Central detectives at (312) 747-8382 or 911.
