Culver's Sets Opening Date in Dawsonville, Plans Additional Locations

The look of a typical Culver's
Burger joint plots expansion.

Prairie du Sac, Wisconsin-based Culver's has set March 28th as the opening date for the chain's new location in Dawsonville, their first in Georgia. (At this point the opening date is confirmed but is subject to change)  Located at 252 S 400 Center Lane, the restaurant sits just north of the North Georgia Premium Outlets.

For the uninitiated, Culver's is most well known for their frozen custard and signature ButterBurgers. Culver's menu also includes a variety of sides such as Wisconsin cheese curds, onion rings and cole slaw, as well as assorted salads and soups.

In addition to the upcoming restaurant in Dawsonville, Culver's is planning new locations in Newnan, Buford, Grovetown and Johns Creek.

Thus far the only location to be confirmed is in Newnan at 311 Newnan Crossing Bypass. Situated in an outparcel of BJ's Wholesale Club, and across from Ashley Park, the new Culver's will open in the former Rock Back Pizza.  Steve Datka, Director of Design Services at Culver Franchising System, Inc, tells me that the existing building will be modified to include a drive-thru.

The Buford location will reportedly be built on a currently vacant parcel of land with the Grovetown location still being finalized and the Johns Creek location "in jeopardy."  While the previously targeted Johns Creek location may very well not happen, the chain is reportedly still interested in the area.

Datka tells me he's hopeful that the Newnan, Grovetown and Buford locations will open before the end of the year.

Are you a fan of Culver's? What is your favorite menu item? Where would you like to see Culver's open next in Georgia?
