(The Barbed Wire) – Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg and Pope Francis are in agreement on the strategy to defeat ISIS – beat them into submission with LOVE. The approach hasn’t been tried yet, but since Zuck and the Pope are well-respected military strategists, it just may be crazy enough to work.
Forget carpet bombing, ground offensives, and Seal Team 6 missions, we just haven’t been loving enough to take the fight out of ISIS. Zuckerberg offered some suggestions for diffusing the hatred that is so entrenched in the Islamic State:
“If you happen to see a terrorist wearing a suicide belt, approach him slowly and say, ‘Hey buddy, instead of pressing that detonator, how about a hug?’ Offer to buy him a coke. Give him that Starbucks gift card you’ve been carrying around for 4 months. Read him a story.”
