Police: Illegal Alien Suspect Pablo Antonio Serrano-Vitorino in 5 killings arrested in Missouri

A Mexican national suspected of killing five people in Kansas and Missouri was arrested Wednesday alongside a highway in central Missouri after a massive manhunt involving helicopters, police dogs and a SWAT team.

Authorities apprehended Pablo Antonio Serrano-Vitorino without a struggle just after midnight in Montgomery County, Mo., according to the Missouri Highway Patrol.

He was found lying on a hill near Interstate 70, according to The Kansas City Star. "He looked exhausted," Sgt. James Hedrick of the Missouri Highway Patrol told the newspaper.

The 40-year-old suspect is accused of killing four men late Monday at his neighbor's home in Kansas City, Kan. He is also wanted in connection with the fatal shooting of Randy Nordman, 49, in Montgomery County on Tuesday.

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement said in a statement Tuesday night that Serrano-Vitorino, of Mexico, was deported from the U.S. in April 2004 and illegally re-entered “on an unknown date,” according to the Associated Press.

Authorities zeroed in on Montgomery County after a pickup Serrano-Vitorino had apparently been driving was found abandoned early Tuesday. Shortly afterward, sheriff's deputies were called to a shooting about five miles away where Nordman's body was discovered, according to the highway patrol.

Searchers began scouring the area after a 911 caller reported seeing someone matching Serrano-Vitorino's description fleeing the area on foot.

Police have not released the names of the four victims in Kansas, but relatives identified three of them to the Kansas City Star as Mike Capps and brothers Clint and Austin Harter.
