New Mexican restaurant coming to Sandy Springs.
Huey Luey's Mexican Kitchen & Margarita Bar plans to open a new location on Roswell Road in Sandy Springs later this fall. The new Mexican restaurant will occupy about 6,500 square feet in Sandy Springs Village shopping center at the intersection of Abernathy and Roswell Roads. Huey Luey's will be located to the right of Goodwill and in front of Crossfit Perimeter, located at the rear of the building.
According to online documents and building permits, the new restaurant will feature an outdoor two story patio that will wrap around the building. The restaurant is being designed by and renovated/constructed by Sandy Springs-based Restaurant Consulting Group. RCG has designed a number of Atlanta area restaurants including both F&B and TOMO at 3630 Peachtree Road in Buckhead, as well as Grace 17.20 at The Forum in Peachtree Corners and Rumi's Kitchen in Sandy Springs, among others.

The first Huey Luey's opened in Hiram in 2011 and was followed by location two in Cobb Parkway in Acworth in 2014.
"Huey Luey’s mission is simply to bring you the freshest Mexican food possible. With a warm and inviting decorating style, we created a unique restaurant around original recipes that command only the freshest ingredients. More than tacos and enchiladas, Huey Luey’s specializes in marinated grilled beef dishes, as in our Tampiquena Steak, “Texas” style fajitas with freshly grilled steak, chicken and shrimp, Huey’s Burrote, a gigantic foot long burrito, homemade Salsas and Pico de Gallo prepared fresh every day, and Guacamole made to order!"
The restaurant also features drink specials including their $5 house margaritas served all day, every day.

While the space that Huey Luey's will occupy had most recently been vacant, it was previously home to Sandy Springs Funhouse, a family entertainment facility. The Funhouse was likely most well known locally as being the site of a Justin Bieber-related incident in 2014. Before the Funhouse, the space was Steinway Piano Galleries.
Have you been to one of the other Huey Luey's locations, if so what were your thoughts? Are you pleased to have the vacant space turned into a new restaurant? Does the idea of a two story patio appeal to you?
