BREAKING NEWS: Chandler AZ Police: Two police officers shot, suspect dead at local Walmart Store

The Chandler Police Department is investigating a shooting that left two officers injured and a suspect dead, according to the department.

Details of the shooting are scarce but the Chandler Police Department said the shooting happened Saturday morning at the Walmart located at 1175 S. Arizona Avenue. Detective Seth Tyler, of the Chandler Police Department, called the shooting an ambush that happened inside the Walmart.

"When the suspect had a clear view, he fired at the officer," Tyler said.

Tyler said it's unclear if the first officer was able to return fire but said the second officer that responded did shoot and kill the suspect. Chandler officials said both officers are in stable condition and the suspect involved is dead. The first responding officer is in surgery.

"We pull together," Tyler said. "We know we have a job to do and the most important thing is ensuring those officers are okay."
