WESTLAKE, OH — A Cleveland woman is facing charges after she was arrested for speeding with a 2-year-old in the front seat and stolen credit cards in her possesion.
Cherita Foreman, 27, was arrested Sunday in Westlake after an officer clocked her going 90 miles-per-hour, according to arrest records acquired by Patch. Foreman was driving eastbound in a 60 mile-per-hour zone on Interstate 90 when she was pulled over, police said.
The arresting officer then noticed a 2-year-old in an unsafe and unsecured booster seat on the passenger side of the vehicle.
It wasn't Foreman's baby. She was unable to tell officers the baby's name or age and had been smoking marijuana, Westlake Police Chief Guy Turner told Patch in an email. Foreman was also in the possession of stolen credit cards issued to two Lakewood women Foreman had worked for, police said.
Cuyahoga County Children's Services took custody of the child and worked with Westlake Police to identify the boy, Turner told Patch. The child was returned to his mother in Toledo after an investigation. The boy was given to an aunt for an Easter visit and eventually ended up in the possession of Foreman.
