SSANU Strike: Uni Abuja VC calls for dialogue

The Vice Chancellor of University of Abuja, Professor Michael Adikwu has called on members of the local branch of Senior Staff Association of Nigeria Universities (SSANU) to pursue dialogue in resolving their differences with the management.

He said it was the right thing to do if they cherished a genuine desire for the growth and the development of the institution.

SSANU, UniAbuja chapter held its congress earlier this month and in the aftermath of the congress, issued the management of the university an ultimatum, threatening to down tools by May 2nd if their salaries were not paid in full.

Professor Adikwu who was reacting to the resolutions of the recent congress by SSANU said his administration was poised to promote labour friendly environment that will bring out the best from every worker and guarantee the continued growth and development of the university.

Speaking on salary payment, the VC assured the workers that they will continue to receive their salaries in full but will be consulted if there were reasons to act contrarily 

Adikwu denied shielding corrupt officials adding that several investigation committees were being set up on all reported cases.
