15 Shots fired during gang banging shootout at the once beautiful Silver Beach in St. Joseph Michigan; 2 minority gang bangers from Elkhart Indiana arrested
Two men were arrested after shots were fired at Silver Beach County Park in St. Joseph.
Police officers from several departments responded to the shooting around 9 p.m. Monday.
According to radio station WSJM, two people fired about 15 shots at each other, but they missed and no one was injured.
Officers were able to locate one of suspects who fired shots near the restrooms. He was taken into custody and and admitted to possessing a handgun, according to a release from the Berrien County Sheriff’s Office.
He is currently being held at the Berrien County Jail and is expected to be arraigned on several charges including assault with a dangerous weapon, reckless discharge of a firearm, concealed weapon violation and felon in possession of a firearm.
Police also found two more handguns in the second suspect’s vehicle. Authorities say he partially confessed while in custody and is being held at the Berrien County Jail on two counts of carrying a concealed weapon violation.
Both of the men from Elkhart, Indiana, are expected to be arraigned on Tuesday. Their names have not been released pending arraignment.
