Chicago Intersections are DANGEROUS! Woman Shot & Killed while waiting at an intersection in Edgewater

A woman was shot and killed overnight on the far North Side of Chicago.

Police say the woman was driving an SUV and stopped at a light at the intersection of Ridge and Peterson in the Edgewater neighborhood.

A man got out of a car and fired several shots into the SUV. The woman was hit in the head and taken to Saint Francis Hospital, where she was pronounced dead, according to the Chicago Tribune.

Police say she was riding with a man who is a documented gang member. No one is in custody.

The shooting comes after the Chicago Police Department released new statistics showing the rate of murders in the city has slowed.
