Acts of vandalism to veterans memorials in California and Kentucky have cast a shadow on Memorial Day weekend.
Irreverent vandals tagged a Vietnam War Memorial in Venice Beach, Calif. and a Kentucky man was arrested for destroying nearly 200 crosses meant to honor Henderson, Ky. residents who served in the military — on a weekend meant to honor service members.
In Venice Beach, a graffiti artist desecrated a mural bearing the names of military members who went missing in action during the Vietnam War.
