Retired Merrionette Park IL Police Sergeant Thomas O. Bakalik dead at 76

Bakalik, Thomas O. Age 76, peacefully passed away April 22, 2016. Husband of Elizabeth "Betty" (nee DiGuido); loving father of Pamela (Gene) Swierczewski, Thomas (Sharon), Patricia (Joseph) McLaughlin, Robert (Kristin); dearest grandfather of Beth (Sean) Starr, Joey, Lisa, Jaclyn, Alexander and Shaq; cherished great-grandfather of Sunny, Shayne and Ada; treasured brother of Ms. V. Manger and the late Howie (Chris) Wedell; fond uncle of many nieces and nephews. U.S. Army veteran, 40 year Union meat cutter at Jewel, Merrionette Park Police Sergeant and happily retired for 18 years. He was an avid hunter and outdoorsman. Interment will be private in Upper Pennisula, Michigan where his spirit will live on with nature. A funeral Mass will be held at St. Christina Church, 11100 S. Christiana, Chicago on Wednesday, May 11, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. Celebrant, Reverend Michael Novick, godson. -
