King County prosecutors have charged two women with drive-by shooting, accusing them of chasing another vehicle and firing at the four family members inside during the evening commute in Renton on May 23.

Two women have been charged with drive-by shooting for allegedly opening fire on another vehicle in Renton last week, according to King County prosecutors.

Four family members were in the targeted vehicle, but they managed to duck from the six bullets that blew out at least one window, according to charges filed in the case.


The suspected shooter, Alysia Newton, 27, of Federal Way, is being held in the King County Jail in lieu of $700,000 bail, court and jail records show. Brandi Brathwaite, a 32-year-old Kent woman who is the suspected driver, is also in custody in lieu of $500,00 bail, the records say.
