CHICAGO: 6-year-old girl among 11 shot in 7 hours Monday 06/06/2016 as BLACK VIOLENCE SOARS
A 6-year-old girl was among 11 people shot across Chicago within seven hours Monday night.
The girl was critically wounded Monday night in a shooting in the Logan Square neighborhood on the Northwest Side.
About 8:10 p.m., she was outside of a home during a party in the 2100 block of North Bingham when a vehicle drove up and someone inside started shooting, according to Chicago Police. One resident said the girl lived on the block where the shooting occurred.
She suffered a gunshot wound to the back and a relative drove her to Presence Saints Mary and Elizabeth Medical Center. She was later transferred to Stroger Hospital, where she was in critical condition, police said.
Neighbors said they heard between eight to 10 shots in about 15 seconds.
